The Car

Chassis built in July 2002 by Foy Gilmore of Pensacola, Florida.

Constructed of 4130 Chrome Molybdenum round tube, 125” wheelbase. 6 foot single wheel “wheelie bar”.

All powder coated (hammertone) or chrome plated.

Suspension, Steering, and Brakes

Front

Rigid Suspension, Steering SPE rack and pinion with drag link, SPE spindles. (Rack and pinion being quite unusual on this type of car). Wilwood Disc brakes with Line Lock

Rear

4 Link, Sliding A frame, Anti-roll Bar, coil over dampers. All fully adjustable.

Lightened discs, Aerospace Aluminium 4 pot calipers.

12 foot cross form parachute

Body

Fibre Glass replica (much modified) 1923 Model T Ford manufactured by Hairy Glass (Florida),

Aluminium panels and Fibre Glass nose.

Front mounted Canard wings, high mounted rear wing both being Aluminium construction.

Painted Intense blue pearl with chomalusion flames on the nose and air scoop.

Rear Axle

Narrowed Ford 9” casing, Moser Nodular Iron centre section with Moser Spool 4.3:1 ratio gears. 40 Spline Moser half shafts.

Wheels

Weld 15x 3.5” Alumastar forged front fitted with Hoosier tyres (35psi)

Weld 16x 16” Alumastar rears fitted with Hoosier 16-16-33.6 slicks (4.5 – 5.5psi depending on conditions)

Transmission

Powerglide 2 speed and reverse, Dedenbear case with steel liner, 10 plate high gear clutch, race Pump, roller bearing tailshaft housing and rear support, Manual shift valve body, transbrake, pro bandit shifter with solenoid activated gear shift. 1.80:1Straight cut steel low gear ratio, BTE 9 inch Torque converter, stall speed 5800rpm. Transmission originally supplied by BTE, Rebuilt using parts supplied by BTE.

Engine

541 cubic inch (8872cc), 4.5 bore x 4.25 stroke. Keith Black (KB600) Oldmobile aluminium Block,

Callies Steel crank, Oliver Billet "I" beam rods, JE forged pistons (14.8:1),

Roller custom ground camshaft, Isky red zone roller lifters, Jesel externally adjustable belt drive for camshaft.

Milidon Billet oil pump, Dan Olsen oil pan TCI balancer,

Oval port Brodix aluminium heads with full CNC porting and chambers, T&D shaft mount rockers. Valve lift approx 0.9" ( 23mm).

Nextek valve springs, 2.3" (58.42mm)stainless steel inlet valves, 1.90"(48.26mm) inconel exhaust valves.

Profiler Sniper single plane inlet manifold, Holley Dominator -1250cfm carburettor,

Jesel Front mounted belt drive distributor, MSD ignition system, Harwood Air scoop, CSI electric water pump, Holly electric fuel pump, Torco synthetic oil, Sunaco Supreme racing Petrol.

New Mechanical fuel injection sysytem will be fitted during 2010, consists of heavily modified Profiler tunnel ram, with special top, enderle Birdcatcher injector, enderle 80a-1 pump. ..

Miscellaneous

Painless switch panel, Ron Davis radiator and electric fan, BTE transmission cooler, Optima battery. Autometer Ultra-lite gauges. Computech 45 channel data logger.

Driver safety

Gforce Safety Belts, Awesome Racewear -15 suit, Arm restraints, Simpson Helmet and Shoes, Gloves, Hanz device.
